Wake Forest Prediction

Alright, so tonight we play Wake Forest in their High School stadium on Thursday night football. My prediction: PAIN.

31-13 Deamon Deacons

Yes, I just like the symetry of the numbers, that's why I picked it.

No actually I think Wake Forest got beat by a Paul Johnson inspired Navy team last week and they're hell bent on redemption and the chase for the ACC championship. They have a tough defense that has easily stopped us in the past and I see no reason it won't do the same today. On the other hand, our defense has had plenty of trouble stopping them in past games in Winston-Salem and we haven't stopped any good teams this year.

Finally, it's at Wake, on Thursday night, both killer intangibles. Some would say "but Tommy Bowden's back is against the wall and Rob Spence is 'getting tough'!" Well, to that, I say: "so what?" Rob Spence said he's getting tough but then he turned around and said he's going to run lots of trick plays. Oh boy, that's a brillaint idea. Run a bunch of limp wristed reverses and double screens... that'll be real tough.

I may be wrong: we may cover the spread. Doubtful. This one is going to be painful.

Since you pointed out our useless stats, don't you think you're being a bit vague and specious when you say (paraphrasing) "well they've stopped us in the past and we haven't stopped them in the past so we won't stop them and they'll stop us"?

No, not at all. Those are the facts. In games at Wake under Bowden they have shut our offense down while we've let them run all over us. That is a direct comparison and pertinent to this discussion.

I concur.

Now that this debacle is behind us, any takers on Clemson wins over GT? Not a bet I would take, PJ has GT rolling far better than they ever did under Chan. And their defensive line will blow up Clemson's O-line.

Any bets on Korn getting injured during the GT game? I'm thinking there's a better than 50/50 chance of it happening. Crappy line coupled with the fact Korn has little gameday experience and he'll be running for his life out there. He'll tire pretty quickly, then get popped.

I might bet for Clemson against a spread but I'm damn sure not betting straight up. No way we beat Gerogia Tech now that they have the coach we should have gotten.
